Connell has a very good team this year and it showed as they wrestled tough in every match. There were some bright spots for the Bears despite the 52-18 drubbing.
119 - Sergio moved up from last years 103 and defeated a tough Brad Prather 10-4. Sergio picked up some early back points with a leg ride to take a 5-0 lead. Prather made a match of it in the second with a takedown and nearfall pts on a cradle, making the score 6-4 Sergio. A reverse and a 3rd round takedown gave the match to Sergio.
140 - Josh Corke provided the first pin of the night for the Bears. There was a lot of action in the first round with both wrestlers attempting throws but neither gaining the advantage, 0-0 first period. Josh started the second with an escape and a double leg takedown but lost a point for a full nelson. Corke finally got a head and arm in the 3rd and recorded the pin with 41 seconds left in the match.
145 - Justin Corke and Juventino Orozco provided the crowd with the most action packed match. Orozco recorded 7TD's, 1 reverse and 1 nearfall. Corke collected 3TD's and nearly put Orozco on his back with a head and arm to end the first round. Orozco led the entire match but Corke still had a chance to tie or win the match in the 3rd when the score stood at 18-15.
152 - Wes Wiesler got an early takedown on Jesse to lead 2-0, but Jesse confidently came back with a reverse and 4TD's to dominate the match.
171 - Josh Corriel wrestled tough against Chad Tuck, but was unable to score any offensive points other than 2 escapes.
275 - Kevin Hunter ended the match with a 1:12 pin of Fabien Madero. Hunter nearly had a single leg takedown on Madero before grabing a head and arm for the takedown and pin.
