YAKIMA - Kiona-Benton went 0-3 in the medal round but still finished eighth in the 1A state volleyball tournament in the Yakima SunDome.

The Bears lost 15-5, 15-13 to Newport; fell 15-7, 15-6 to Grandview; and lost 15-8, 3-15, 15-11 to Castle Rock.

Lisa Flohr had 44 assists and 16 digs for Ki-Be, while Nichole Rose had 34 kills, 10 blocks and 26 digs. Amanda Marlin added 12 digs and was 100 percent serving (23 for 23) for the Bears, who finished the season with a 20-9 record.
