Ki-Be vs. Toppenish

Toppenish has a thin team this year, but still has some top notch wrestlers at a few weights. Richie Zuniga (103), Tony Paredes (160), Nathan Zuniga (215) and Wilde Owens (275) are the team leaders. Tommy Vasquez (119) and Eli Zuniga (112) are new faces on the team who have wrestled impressively this year.

Ki-Be is 1-2-1 lifetime against Toppenish and should be able to even the record this year. The last win came at home in 98, 35-32. Toppenish won last years match 48-30.

103 - Sergio will have his hands full with Zuniga. Zuniga (13-0) is #1 in the CWAC and possibly #1 in the state. He was the Tri-State champ last month. Sergio has had an impressive year himself. He is 16-1 and his only loss comes against a wrestler he beat earlier in the season. Sergio has also won three tourney championships. Sergio must wrestle his best, but he is capable of pulling off the upset.

125 - No John Cerna to take Ale to the limits of his wrestling ability this year. This should be an easy outing for Ale, but the team will need a pin out of him.

130,135,140,152 - Corke, Delangel, Walsh and McCullough all need to win in order for the Bears to secure this dual. Ki-Be must get at least 18 points out of these four matches or it will be very close at the end.

145 - Jesse hasn't wrestled since the Royal Tourney where he got caught in a head and arm late in his 3rd place match. I don't expect that to happen to him again this year and especially not in this match. Expect a quick pin.

160,171 - Tony Paredes is a state vet and has wrestled at both weights this year. Toppenish might think they will have a better chance in the dual if they send an unknown against Corriel and Paredes wrestles Mejia. Paredes versus either of the Bears will be a toss up, but Ki-Be will get at least one win at these weights.

215 - Nathan Zuniga is ranked #9 in the CWAC only because there has been little info on him the last two years. Zuniga placed 6th at state in 98. Bobby has been wrestling well this year and will give Zuniga a battle. If things are not going well for Ki-Be up to this point, then this could be the deciding match.
